Photojournalism Essay by Ursula Tiegs

On October 25, sophomore Hana Fulbright practices her shooting at Buckman Field. After a seven month long break from the Covid-19 pandemic, Fulbright wanted to practice some of her skills before the new high school season started.

A small statue overlooks the garden at Ursula Tiegs’ house, providing contrast to the warm tones of the autumnal season. The moss covered statue has been with the family for over a decade, and is seen as a guardian, overlooking and protecting the plants and animals in the garden.

On October 28, Goldie, a grand pyrenees dog, sits in the shade. Ursula Tiegs and her family adopted Goldie from a rescue center when Tiegs was 3. Goldie is now 14 years old and continues to be an extremely loved part of the family.
