What Students Thought of Our Photo Journalism Unit
By Sophie Goodwin and Kate Haddon Our photojournalism unit all started when we learned about different photo composition techniques and displayed our knowledge by capturing Lincoln using all the different techniques. We then tested our ability by identifying the variety of techniques in the Wall Street Journal. Additionally, we immersed ourselves into the world of photojournalism by researching and writing about famous photographers, and their journey to how they became a photojournalist. Finally to wrap up the unit we designed a three photo series to tell a story about some aspect of life at Lincoln, teaching us how to relate photos to each other and write captions. Students enjoyed participating in this unit. “I literally loved it! Photography is one of my favorite things and it was just a really great experience,” said Ainsley Webb, as our unit drew to a close.
