Everyone deals with stress, but they deal with it in different ways. On a normal school day, Keller Harris, a freshman, feels stressed but this doesn't just mean school work. He says it's hard to balance school work with keeping healthy friendships in addition to coding and rock climbing.

Harris is liking this year so far, but he thinks that it is only going to get harder. “They are making it easy this year,” says Harris, “because we’re new to the school.”

”We’re just sitting in circles doing silly stuff,” says Harris. However, he admits the stress has already started.

“Math gives me the most homework,”says Harris. About every night he has about one hour to an hour and a half of homework and one hour is mostly made up of math. On weekends, that hour changes to about two hours. After he comes home on the bus, he does in chunks and when he is not working, you can find him chatting with friends or coding.

About three to four days each week he also does rock climbing which he very much enjoys, he says finds that this can provide an outlet for his stress.

Harris says that there are ways to help the stress levels. So far the biggest help has been flex. Flex occurs twice a week and he wants it to happen even more. He says that the opportunity to talk with teachers and have time to retake tests and finish homework helps a lot and contributes minimizing the stress level. In the future, his life along with others will become more stressful and their will need to be ways to deal with it inside and out of school. There's a way to combat this stress, however Many people haven't quite figured it out.

  1. I like how laid back the writing is, as well as how the writing touches on what the subject is feeling and his everyday life too.
