This video comes from the channel that goes by the username Peaceful Cuisine on YouTube. Peaceful Cuisine features a wide selection of cooking videos of aesthetically pleasing Japanese cuisine with music playing in the background, but what drew me to the channel was its cooking videos without any background noise. The only sounds you hear during the video are the pouring and mixing of ingredients. In this video the person is shown to be making sakura anpan, a Japanese sweet roll in the shape of sakura (cherry blossoms). Along with the satisfying visuals, the video also provides ingredient measurements and instructions in the description below the video. These videos would be considered as Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR), a popular trend that’s being spread around social media. The result is a lovely yet delicious looking pink pastry.

I chose to feature this video because I haven’t seen many ASMR videos that are similar to this one. I’ve seen eating, slime, and whispering, but not cooking ASMR. I also enjoy the feeling of calm and serenity I experience when watching this video. I was drawn to the video because the thumbnail showed an interestingly shaped pastry that I wanted to know how to make.

Not only is this video a method for you to calm down, but a learning experience in which you can learn how to make a new form of pastry. It combines two appealing aspects into one video. The video is simplistic and doesn’t have too many things going on at once, so it is easy for the viewer to pay attention to what is happening.
