Storytelling: My First Audition
By Lulu Kashiwabara
For this storytelling unit, I decided to share my first audition experience. Theatre and music have both been a big part of my life, and it was only fitting for me to talk about that in my story. In addition, these things have shaped who I am as a person, and I wanted to talk about something that has made me how I am today.
My experience with telling my story was pretty positive. Everyone in my group listened well and paid attention to what I was saying. They also gave me great feedback at the end, and talked about what went well and some improvements I could make. From telling my story, I learned that our class is very respectful of others, receptive and attentive.
In my opinion, this storytelling unit did help bring our class together because we were all sharing personal things about ourselves. There were many stories that I could relate to, and I felt that this helped me understand and know my classmates better. Also, sharing personal facts is very vulnerable, and I think that doing this helped everyone open up more and be able to talk in a more confident way.
