Storytelling: Becoming a Survivalist
By: Ainsley Webb
My story is about a time when my siblings and I wanted to become survivalists. One day, back in 2007, my siblings and I were bored out of our minds so we built a fort in our dad's closet. We decided that we couldn't leave the closet no matter what, including going to the bathroom. So we brought in a watermelon water jug that we used as our bathroom. And from there is when our dad found us and got really mad. We were in very big trouble, he made us clean the jug. But in the end, we just threw away the jug and we learned never to do that again.
I chose this particular story because stories about your past can be really interesting and can tell a lot about someone's personality. Also, I chose this because it is overall a pretty funny story and it shows how stupid kids can be while growing up.
My experience sharing this story with no notes was a really positive experience because you can show your actual emotions and remember the story in a way that could never be written down. From this project, I learned that my classmates have similar stories about their past. I also think that this project helped us grow as a community because we learned so much about each other and how we deal with emotions. Which I think is very cool!
