“Uh.. I don’t really remember,” said Lepe-Canfield when asked about why he decided to make a documentary over the summer. “We made Paul Ballete and we wanted to make something to kinda kick it off, and the idea of doing a documentary just kinda happened.”
Adin enjoys making and editing videos. He was the main editor of Paul Ballete, and he spent a lot of late nights trying to make the movie perfect.
“I kinda like just doing little stuff to make the video a little cooler or more interesting. I love stuff like looking for cool fonts, coming up with ideas for title cards and stuff like that,” said L-C.
Adin was happy with the reception to Paul Ballete. Feedback from people who watched it was positive, and the movie got over 600 views on youtube. However, the group did get some constructive criticism and they are listening to it.
“Most of my friends said it was cool. The people who thought it was weird weren’t really people I was really close friends with or anything.”
Nothing sounds quite as fun as making a movie with your best friends. However, there are some parts of the process that can be a pain in the neck.
Adin said the worst part of making a movie was, “Definitely sifting through all the footage and deciding what to put in and what to throw away. That gets so boring.”
Adin and his friends just put out the movie around two months ago, and they’re already thinking about what’s next for the group. However, whatever is coming next is a secret for now.
“This information can not be revealed to the public,” said L-C about what’s next for the young filmmakers.
Adin says he made the film collective with Marce and Elijah, “Because they’re my best friends and they also like making videos and movies and stuff."
Of all the memories that come with making a movie with your friends, Adin says his favorites were, “Editing late at night with my friends. Also filming stuff together.”
“Everyone said they really liked it, which was cool,” said Adin when asked about the response to Paul Ballete. “I was really happy about the response.”
Adin's advice to someone who wanted to make a movie would be, “Just do it. Don’t think about it too much or try to make it perfect or whatever, just put it out and get it done.”
Adin really loves making movies with his friends. He wants to take his love for making movies and turn it into something more serious in the future.
When I asked him about where he sees himself taking his love for filmmaking, he said that “I want to direct movies. I want to be a director.”
Very cute and well written.
ReplyDeleteI like how your profile focused a lot on the movie Adin made.
