Editorial Cartoon: Call me ____

My motivation for creating this editorial cartoon was that I knew that transphobia was going to be an issue that wasn’t tackled much by other editorial cartoons in my class. I wanted to make my cartoon original and tackle a subject that wasn’t super popular. I also think in general transphobia isn’t talked about enough compared to other social and political issues.

My process was pretty simple. I got the idea right away and sketched a rough draft pretty quickly. Then I redrew it a bit more meticulously and went over it in pen to make it look better.

From drawing an editorial cartoon I’ve learned that making editorial cartoons is a fun and creative way to express your frustrations in what is happening in the world.
