In their first song in five months since their hit Rental, the song 1999 Wildfire captures the artists Joba, Dom Mclennon, Kevin Abstract, bear face, and Matt Champion in a full face frontal view. The song begins with a nostalgic introduction by throwback producer Jazze Pha that introduces Brockhampton. After the introduction, the scene cuts to Abstract singing the chorus in an empty bedroom; sitting on a ‘unusual’ red chair as he puts the whole song in motion. As the song plays out, each different “artist” sings/raps completely in each different tone, though for the exact same topic, which causes the song to be beautifully done and perfectly instrumented. Champion brings in his verse as an amazing versatile artist that can make connections with his fair share of one liners, Joba uses his verse to tell the story of Brockhampton as a new dream, and McLennon amazing lyrics does amazingly well with the amazing beat the song brings. Lastly, bear face uses his soft voice to bring the bridge into the song exactly right where it needs to be.

What I like about the song is about how the song just perfectly has that tune to where it can fit any mood. It can be put as a sad break up, a happy new beginning, and even a mood of anger and jealousy. It fits all! Not only does Abstract, McLennon, and Champion do astoundingly well on their verses/choruses, they do even better on producing the song and choosing the best aspects of it. This song is one of my favorites from their summer singles and one of my favorite songs of all time. It has a perfectly sung chorus, well sung bridge, and each verse gets more better than the other. It is a well put out song all in all.

When the song was released, one of the major supporting artists, Ameer Vann was removed from the group after alleged sexual misconduct. After this incident, Vann was kicked out of Brockhampton and they had to regroup to work around this. The song 1999 Wildfire took so long to upload because of the leaving of Vann and how they had to cope with the leaving of him. He was also planned to have a part in the song, though had to be taken out after his departure.
