Annika Schoner Soccer Profile
Student Annika Schoner at her soccer game last season. Besides soccer, she shows great determination in school.
Eleven years ago, Annika Schoner first set foot on the pitch. From that moment on, she knew soccer was what she wanted to do.
“Soccer a big part of my life,” Schoner says. She says she couldn't imagine a life without soccer. It was that day that her parents put her on a team and took her to a practice for a sport she had never played before, that her life changed.
“I enjoy playing midfield the most because I think that is where most of the action is,” says Schoner. Since she has been playing for awhile now, she has experience and knows what position she wants to continue improving in.
Besides playing soccer, she enjoys watching professionals play and her friends play. Schoner
says she learns a lot from it. It helps her improve her tactical awareness and positioning on the field. She is very interested in her career and motivated to get better.
“I want to play in college,” says Schoner. That is one of her long term goals.
Her balance with soccer and school is steady. She has high school training four times a week and one to two games as well. Since she is in high school now, the workload has increased. She uses her spare time at school and time after soccer to complete her assignments. She manages to keep excellent grades.
“I really love playing because having a great team really motivates me to keep going and push myself,” says Schoner. Her enjoyment during soccer is what she looks forward to everyday. “When I’m having a bad day, I can always look forward to practice because it cheers me up being around my teammates while having fun” states Schoner.
Last year, she was on a youth soccer team. Her teammates were really nice and she really loved playing there. Now, in high school soccer as a freshman, she is in a very similar environment with a great team.
“Soccer fills up my life and basically defines who I am. I would be a completely different person without it,“ says Schoner.
I really liked the last quote Annika said. I used to play soccer with her, and I think its really interesting to see a different person's perspective on soccer.
