Oprah Winfrey Receives Cecil B. DeMille Award at 2018 Golden Globes

The 2018 Golden Globes is subject to for talking lately. A lot had happened, but nothing can be greater than the speech Oprah Winfrey gave after receiving the Cecil B. DeMille award. Not James Franco blocking Tommy Wiseau from giving his speech, not Hugh Jackman’s reaction face while Franco gave his speech, nor Natalie Portman complaining about the all-male nominees for best director.
After the Golden Globes and after Oprah’s speech, the rumor about Oprah running for president seemed little less than just a rumor. Her speech was not just powerful, but Oprah had to actually stop people from clapping so she could continue her speech. She mostly encouraged “the women that felt strong enough and powered enough to speak up and share their personal stories.”She talks about stories, her story, the abused women’s stories and the story of how all the actresses are sticking together so they can support the abused women. Oprah talks about watching the Oscars when Sidney Poitier won an award and how she was just a little girl so amazed that a black man was being celebrated like that.
Oprah Winfrey’s speech even makes those people cry that don’t have any personal connection with the stories she’s telling. Maybe that’s why she should run for president.
